On Sunday, June 8, 2014 Calvary U.M. C. hosted the Red Bird Mission Craft Fair. The profits from the fair will be returned to the Appalachian artisans in and around Frakes, Kentucky, providing them with a means of income. Our youth, in return, crafted twelve tie blankets. As they worked in teams to tie the child-friendly fleece blankets, the youth silently prayed for the future recipients. The blankets were donated to the Red Bird Mission Christmas room, where parents of the community have an opportunity to select three gifts for each of their children. Before sending them to Kentucky, the youth gathered around all of the blankets, praying for each child to know the love of Jesus Christ and live in His light.
