Coming this Fall!
An Early Morning Adult Christian Education Option
“20 Marks of Discipleship”
8:00AM – 9:00AM on Sunday mornings from 9/15/13 through 11/17/13
One of the critical issues facing any church body is the question of finding and developing the leadership that will supervise and serve in the ministries of the congregation. Where should churches look for their leaders, and how do they choose them?
That was the question asked of the Apostle Paul many years ago by a church he had planted, and our course for this fall will examine his response. Paul, in answer to the question raised above, wrote convincingly of twenty characteristics that church leadership should look for when seeking servants and leaders for their churches. Writing to his younger co-workers, Paul offered a series of observations about desirable traits and attitudes to look for in potential church leaders. The list he eventually compiled may be useful to any Christian interested in measuring their own progress towards growing in maturity and faith.
During this 10-week study, Pastor Bern will lead a discussion of two “marks of discipleship” each Sunday. We will use Gene Getz’s classic book The Measure of a Man, which may be purchased via the order form below, or at a larger Christian bookstore.
