United Methodist Men

Calvary United Methodist Men are organized around four operating principles. First, we exist to identify and to develop men of faith who would be willing to work together in the United Methodist Church’s goal of making disciples Of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We offer gender specific (male) focused activities designed to attract and interest men and their male friends into active learning and fellowship by offering events and training sessions that will encourage and empower them to grow as Godly men and as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Next, our charter makes a commitment to work with our pastor and the other staff members of the church in supporting and serving in the ministries of this congregation. The familiar quotation that “Many hands make light work” is truly reflected in the services our men offer to the local community, the nation, and the world through our church congregation. We have many ways in which anyone can serve, and would love to talk with you about them.

A third reason our unit is operating is to have some fun! Our group tries to do at least one activity each month, split between service, fellowship, or increasing our faith. Service projects include work days at the church, mission projects in the local community, or assisting as helpers at outreach events. The United Methodist Men’s group is also available and able to assist with the local Furniture Bank and our own “Helping Hands” ministry, as well as optional mission trips hosted by the larger congregation. Our fellowship events include attending sporting events, community breakfasts or dinners, and attending any special interest presentations that may come along every couple of months. We host men’s Bible studies and L.I.F.E. (Living in Faith Everyday) Groups for faith development and learning. The friends you make in any of these activities could just possibly turn out to be the best friends you will ever have in this life. Try us and see!

A fourth reason for our men to gather is to mentor the generations that follow us. We come together as the men of this church to set an example of godly behavior and faithful living for the children and youth of our church. We support our youth ministries, and nationally, the United Methodist Men are recognized as the largest and most effective supporters of scouting programs in the United States.

Faithful. Committed. Service Oriented. Fun. The United Methodist Men. Join us.
